Defense of the candidate,s thesis by Bahronov Sojidkhon on the topic: “Technological foundations of uranium materials processing and assessment of radiation risk in the regions of Tajikistan”
On September 11, 2024, at the educational and training center of the Agency for Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear Safety of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, an employee of the Agency - Bahronov Sojidkhon successfully defended his candidate,s thesis entitled “Technological foundations of uranium materials processing and assessment of radiation risk in the regions of Tajikistan”, under the supervision of Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Ilhom Mirsaidzoda - Director of the Agency for Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear Safety of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in the specialty 05.17.01 - “Technology of Inorganic Substances” and 03.02.08.04 - “Ecology and the field of technical sciences”.
The dissertation of Bahronov Sojidkhan covers an important topic, the purpose of which is to study the physical, chemical and technological foundations of the processing of uranium-containing materials and the assessment of radiation risk during the processing of uranium-containing ores and waste, as well as radiation monitoring in various regions of the Republic of Tajikistan, the radiation situation and the development of a radiological map.
The scientific innovations of the research are also worth mentioning, which include the following issues, including:
- the technological foundations of the processing of uranium-containing materials have been developed;
- the assessment of radiation risk during the processing of uranium-containing materials and the radon risk of some regions of Tajikistan have been determined;
- the migration of radionuclides in the environment has been studied;
- the impact of radiation doses on the population in hazardous areas of residence has been studied.
Therefore, the processing of uranium-containing materials and the assessment of radiation risk are an urgent task. The need to conduct research on the processing of uranium-containing ores and waste arises from solving environmental protection issues.
The Agency staff congratulates Bahronov Sajidkhan on the successful defense of his doctoral thesis and wishes him success in his future scientific activities.
