KavrakovaZubaydaBurikhonovna - Ph.D. in Biology, Lead Researcher of Education and TrainingServicesSectioninthefieldofnuclearandradiationsafetyofNRSANAST. In 2005, she graduated from the biological faculty of the Tajik State National University. From 2006 to 2008, she had postgraduate studies at the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan. In 2009, she completed her Ph.D. work on the topic: "Study of DNA polymorphism in species of genus Aegilops l., growing in various climatic conditions of Tajikistan." In 2019, she graduated from the Institute of Postgraduate Education in the field of Healthcare of the Republic of Tajikistan. In 2015, she had a professional internship in Iran on the topic: "Molecular genetics and human cytogenetics."
The main task of the section is to conduct regular educational and training courses with the aim to train a sufficient number of professional personnel to strengthen nuclear and radiation protection in the country. The section conducts various training courses, seminars, technical meetings for organizations that use nuclear and radioactive materials in their activities, as well as for law enforcement officers.
Educational courses cover a wide range of topics in radiation safety, including courses on physical protection, the security of nuclear and radioactive materials, and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and many others. The section staff, with the assistance of IAEA, developed their own training program. A national strategy for education and training in radiation protection and nuclear security was also elaborated. The Section works closely with the IAEA and other international organizations on conducting various national and regional events.
