NATIONAL CHAPTER “WOMEN IN NUCLEAR” TAJIKISTAN

under the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan

The National Chapter “Women in Nuclear” Tajikistan (hereinafter WiN Tajikistan) has been part of WiN Global since February 2021 (https://win-global.org/chapter/tajikistan/), operates under the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (hereinafter referred to as the CBRN Safety and Security Agency of NAST).

WiN Tajikistan is a public organization that unites women-professionals working in the field of peaceful applications of nuclear energy, in the field of chemical, biological, radiological nuclear safety and security, radiation protection, as well as cultural, social and public fields. WiN Tajikistan was created on March 8, 2020 on the initiative of Director of CBRN Safety and Security Agency of NAST, Dr. Ilhom Mirsaidzoda with the aim to increase the role of women in scientific, socio-political, socio-economic and cultural life. 

General provisions

WiN Tajikistan under the CBRN Safety and Security Agency of NAST operates based on legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan (Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Public Associations”) brings together women-professionals with an active life position, employed in various fields of activity.

WiN Tajikistan is a voluntary, self-governing, non-profit, independent public organization that promotes the active participation of women in scientific, public, socio-political, socio-economic and cultural activities, advocates for gender equality, and raises scientific and socially significant issues.

WiN Tajikistan bases its activities on the principles of voluntariness; free to determine its internal structure, forms and methods of operation. The Director of CBRN Safety and Security Agency of NAST provides full support of WiN Tajikistan activities.

The main form of decision-making is general meeting and the decision of president of WiN Tajikistan.

Working languages: Russian, Tajik, English.

The main activities are:

• creating favorable conditions for the active participation of women in science, culture and social activities;
• strengthening women's authority in society;
• assistance to women professionals in professional growth and career development;
• promoting the exchange of knowledge and experience;
• encouraging interest to science, in particular nuclear technology, nuclear and radiation safety and security, radiation protection and etc., especially among women and youth;
• interaction with other scientific, cultural and public organizations;
• strengthening the national and spiritual identity.

Structure of WiN Tajikistan

The President of WiN Tajikistan carries out general management and control over the activities of WiN Tajikistan.

The Director of CBRN Safety and Security Agency of NAST appoints the President of WiN Tajikistan.

The vice-president elects for a term of two years by open voting of the members at the general meeting of WiN Tajikistan.

The press-secretary appoints by the president of WiN Tajikistan.

President and vice-president of WiN Tajikistan:

− organize the activities of WiN Tajikistan;

− draw up an annual Plan of Activities for the WiN Tajikistan;

− represent the interests of WiN Tajikistan on national, regional and international platforms;

− provide a report on the work performed.

Press-secretary of WiN Tajikistan:

- prepares information material, including photo and video on the events held;

- publishes information about the events held on the website and social networks of WiN Tajikistan.

The procedure for becoming a member of WiN Tajikistan

All interested women-professionals from research institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and other organizations of the Republic of Tajikistan can become a member of WiN Tajikistan.

Accounting the work of WiN Tajikistan

1. President of WiN Tajikistan coordinates all activities of WiN Tajikistan;

2. The Plan of Activities of WiN Tajikistan is drawn up annually not later January 15 and is agreed with the director of CBRN Safety and Security Agency of NAST;

3. The President presents the report at the annual meeting.
