PARTICIPATION OF WIN TAJIKISTAN’S MEMBERS IN THE "KOLBA" FORUM AND AWARDS
On 21 April 2023, for the second time, the "KOLBA" Forum and Award for Women Scientists and Professionals from various professional fields was held with the support of the "Women in Nuclear Industry" Foundation for Professional Initiatives. The forum was attended by 340 people.
The Opening Ceremony of the forum began with welcoming remarks by the artificial intelligence robot "Masha" and the founder of the "Atomic Energy 2.0" science portal, Alena Yakovleva.
Evgeniya Enshina, Head of the National Chapter of WiN Russia (Women in nuclear) of the International Movement WiN Global, founder of the Forum and of the KOLBA award, then seized the initiative. Evgeniya noted:
"the main objective of the "Kolba" project is to popularize science in Russia, create role models for future women scientists, build human and intellectual capital in the country, highlight scientific achievements and developments, share experience and knowledge, and strengthen career opportunities for women scientists and create a positive image of a Russian scientist abroad".
The Business Agenda of the forum began with speeches by Oksana Voloshina, Evgeniya, and Zarina Sayfieva, President of WiN Tajikistan. Each of them highlighted the importance and significance of the award for Russian women scientists. Zarina noted:
Today, through such activities as the "Women in Science and Technology Forum" and the "Kolba" Awards, the future of women scientists looks incomparably more optimistic than it did a few years ago. The gender gap in science, technology, engineering and mathematics continues to narrow. There is every reason to believe that it will disappear completely in the near future, largely thanks to the current trend towards an increasing number of women scientists. A number of factors are contributing to this, which means that in the very near future we will be witnessing some incredible discoveries made by our female contemporaries.
Following this, a plenary session entitled "Science today - work on mistakes or a new round of development?" was held with speakers discussing that science today is a process of constant development and improvement. Even in areas where scientific research is focused on work on mistakes, the scientists are constantly looking for new solutions and approaches to improve existing technologies. Thus, Science today can be seen as a combination of work on mistakes and a new round of development.
The forum's operating agenda ended with a lecture on digital etiquette presented by Tatyana Baranova, business-etiquette expert.
The "KOLBA" Awards Ceremony https://t.me/kolba_science took place in the second part of the program in 17 categories and 3 special categories.
