On April 16 of current year, in the conference hall of the Tajikistan National Academy of Sciences a ceremonial meeting dedicated to the Day of Science   with participation of scientists, researchers and officers of this scientific institution was held. A representative of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, the Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission and a representative of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences took part and spoke at the meeting.

Prof. Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda, President of the Tajikistan National Academy of Sciences, said during the opening of the scientific meeting: “In reality, science is always considered a guarantor of sustainable and stable development of society. Taking into account the special importance of this priority and fundamental area of society’s activity, in light of the wise policy of the Founder of National Peace and Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, many long-term projects are being implemented into practice.”
 

It was noted that one of the important issues repeatedly raised by the Head of State during his presentation of messages to the Majlisi Oli of the Republic, as well as at meetings and conversations with scientists and other representatives of the intelligentsia of the country, is the issue of combining science and production, that is, the implementation of the achievements of scientists in production. The Leader of the Nation always emphasizes that scientists need to pay special attention to the further development of exact, natural and technical sciences and the use of scientific forces for the needs of society, as well as expand their activities to a greater extent in the direction of invention and innovation, as well as attracting young people to natural, exact and mathematical sciences and research and inventive work.

Prof. Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda emphasized that “Currently, one of the main problems in the research institutions of the TNAS, which can contribute to the further development of academic science in the Republic, is the lack of young researchers in this field. Of course, it is very important to create good socio-economic conditions for attracting graduates of master's and doctoral PhD institutions in the field of fundamental and applied research, and the leadership of the Academy is making efforts to improve these conditions. It was noted that the leadership of the TNAS plans in future to select scientists with academic degrees in various fields, especially exact, natural and technical sciences, from institutions of higher professional education of the Republic and involve them in the development of academic science.”

It was emphasized that in order to develop and expand the economic, social and spiritual life of society, attention to science has become more important than ever, and in this context, the Government of the country considers science as a driving force of society, and scientists as an invaluable intellectual resource. That is why, paying attention to this issue, the Head of State takes the necessary measures for the further development of science and the improvement of the socio-economic situation of scientists, because the stable development of science and education, the training of personnel that meet the requirements of the labor market are considered priority areas for the development of society and the state.
 

At the end of the event, a number of TNAS scientists and officers were awarded by diplomas and awards, the medal "50 years of continuous work in TNAS" and the title "Excellent officer of Tajikistan education and science", together with them, Prof. Ilhom Mirsaidzoda - Director of the Agency for CBRN Safety and Security at TNAS, was delivered with the diploma of "professor" by the President of TNAS.
