The next scientific and practical seminar dedicated to the state of radio-ecological safety in Tajikistan
Last week, at the Educational and Training Center of the Agency for Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security at the Tajikistan National Academy of Sciences, under the leadership of NAST academician Ulmas Mirsaidov the next scientific and practical seminar on the state of radio-ecological safety was held.
Scientists from the Agency for CBRN Safety and Security, the V.I.Nikitin Institute of Chemistry and the S. U. Umarov Physical-Technical Institute of the NAST took part in the seminar, and topical issues of radio-ecological safety management and radiation level monitoring in northern Tajikistan were analyzed and considered.
Then Khakimjon Tilloboev, an employee of the Branch of the Agency for CBRN Safety and Security of the NAST in Sughd Region, presented and explained to the audience the results of the analysis of the current situation and recommendations for improving the system of managing the protection of the population and the ecosystem.
Also during the seminar, another employee of the Agency, Shukurjon Rahimberdiev, made report with an article entitled “Radon Monitoring Around Radioactive Storage Facilities and Monitoring of the Cesium-137 Isotope in Northern Tajikistan” and presented information on the radiation situation in the region and measures to reduce the threat of risks to public health. At the same time, these topics were discussed by the participants.
Participants stressed the importance of further research in collaboration with experts in this field to ensure public safety and health protection.
It was emphasized that holding of such seminars serves as a platform for discussing issues of radio-ecological safety in the region, exchanging experience between specialists of the field, and raising public awareness of the radiation situation.
