(In the light of speech of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Honorable Emomali Rahmon at a meeting with scientists and educators of the country, 30.05.2024) 

The purpose of the meeting of the Founder of National Peace and Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Honorable Emomali Rahmon with scientistc and educators of the country is to discuss the results of the previous meeting with the intelligentsia, the current state of development of science and its prospects, issues of increasing the level of study of natural and mathematical sciences, support of initiatives in the direction of invention, quality and effectiveness of education of scientific personnel in the country.

The founder of national peace and unity - the leader of the nation, Emomali Rahmon, during his speech, deeply analyzed the results of the work of scientists during the years of independence, and in order to find ways to make domestic science to meet the needs of the times, and serve it in the way of development and progress of the country, specified the tasks for the Government of the country and related structures.

At the same time, it was noted at this meeting that the leadership of the State and the Government of the country have given priority attention to the issue of education and science, over more than 30 years of independence they have built more than 3900 general education institutions, including new types of institutions, i.e. gymnasiums, lyceums and colleges, as well as universities and institutes, and this process has had an impact on the development of science and education in the country, students of these institutions have taken prominent places in the Republican and international Olympiads, which is a source of pride and honor for the nation.

Currently, there are 5,900 people working in the country who have academic degrees and titles, 886 people, or 15.5% of them, are doctors of science (146 people, or 16% of them are women), 4,800 people, candidates of science and 158 people, doctors on specialty (PhD). Currently, more than 12 thousand teachers are working in higher educational institutions of the country, noted the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon. More than 5,500 persons, that is, 45% of them, have an academic degree.

We, young people, must master science and knowledge, study foreign languages, teach students, raise our teenagers and young people to be educated and entrepreneurs, so that they will not need others in the future. Today is the time when we must be wise and vigilant as never before, protect our national statehood and the interests of our state and nation, protect and defend the security of the state and society, peace and stability, national unity as a stable foundation of our free and sovereign state - the Leader of the Nation pointed out.

The results of the President's meeting with the intelligentsia determine the prospects for the pedagogical and scientific activities of each teacher and researcher, and provide guidelines for the performance of worthy and responsible work.
