33 years ago, on September 9, 1991, the Republic of Tajikistan gained independence. Today, it is impossible to imagine any national state without Independence. Independence gave us the opportunity to ensure the present and future path of the nation, as well as the further advancement of our beloved country to a democratic, legal, secular and sovereign society. Independence for us is the highest symbol of the Motherland and patriotism, the greatest achievement of the creation of the state and national statehood, a strong will and the conditions created for achieving great political, economic and cultural achievements that strengthened the standards of a democratic society and citizenship.

“I would like to remind you that the path we have taken for more than three decades has been full of ups and downs, and the noble people of Tajikistan were able to faithfully defend their state independence from the intrigues and conspiracies of domestic and foreign ill-wishers of the Tajik people and the Tajik state, put an end to the imposed civil war, establish peace and restore stability and national unity in the country,” this idea was expressed by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon, at his congratulatory message on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of State independence and  he added that "Tajiks, as an ancient people, with strong determination and unity were able to overcome the obstacles and problems created by their enemies, united under the flag of independence and freedom in very difficult and fateful days and led their state to peaceful and prosperous days." 
For the glorious Tajik people, independence is an outstanding sign of state stability, national survival, a symbol of its originality and individuality, its honor and prestige in the civilized world. In this regard, the events of the 1990s and the complex and disturbing situation in the region and the world make us think about ensuring national security, protecting the national unity and integrity of our dear Motherland - independent Tajikistan, and protecting its achievements.

Therefore, the consistent instructions of the Esteemed Head of State Emomali Rahmon oblige us to try and show courage in protecting, preserving and ensuring the Independence and freedom of our country. As can be seen, in the last decade, the rapid progress of science and technology and the process of globalization have introduced humanity into a completely new environment and led to the formation of a complex system of political-economic, socio-cultural, informational and spiritual relations.

In such circumstances, it is timely to deeply understand our goals and objectives, strengthen historical achievements and protect the national interests of our dear Motherland in the international arena. Thus, it is necessary to remember that the Tajik people, thanks to Independence and National Unity under the leadership of the Founder of National Peace and Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, have achieved significant political, economic, social and cultural achievements and today have a high position and influence in the international arena.

Today, the Republic of Tajikistan is known in the international arena as a proactive country in solving global issues and influential in regulating political processes in the region and the world. Tajikistan has taken confident steps in the world arena, strengthened its positions, promoting logical policy and constructive proposals, and in the future will continue to play an important role in the world with more confident steps. Thus, the goal and task of each member of society should be strengthening national unity, respect for national values, issues of development of society, achievement of strategic goals, improvement of living standards, healthy lifestyle and education of the younger generation in the spirit of humanity.
