The Delegation of Tajikistan participated in the IAEA Event on International Accreditation for the Regional Centers
On January 20 - 23, 2025, a delegation from the Republic of Tajikistan participated in an event organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria. The delegation included Dr. Ilhom Mirsaidzoda, the Director of the CBRN Safety and Security Agency at the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, and Mr. Zafar Safaralizoda, a representative from the Presidential Office of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The primary purpose of the event was to share experiences and discuss international approaches to accrediting regional centers supported by the IAEA. Participants focused on critical aspects of nuclear safety and security, methods for countering threats related to nuclear materials and leveraging advanced technologies to enhance global security in this field.
The Tajik delegation actively engaged in interactive sessions and learned about advanced international technologies applicable to various aspects of nuclear safety and security. Specialized sessions were dedicated to innovative technologies, reliable monitoring systems, and training processes in this area.
Dr. Ilhom Mirsaidzoda highlighted that Tajikistan's participation in the IAEA event marks an important step towards strengthening cooperation with the international community. He emphasized the significance of gaining new knowledge and experience to enhance national capacities in nuclear safety and security.
Additionally, Dr. Mirsaidzoda pointed out that such events facilitate not only dialogue between countries but also the development of practical approaches to address global security challenges.
The event brought together delegations from 50 IAEA member states, offering a unique opportunity to share experiences, develop joint strategies, and discuss current challenges in nuclear safety and security. The Tajik delegation expressed confidence that the knowledge and network communications during the event would contribute to the advancement of national programs in this field.
