New equipment at the NRSA Technical Service Laboratory
NRSA Technical Services Laboratory received new equipment within the framework of the national project "TAD 1001 – Enhancing of Laboratory Capacities for Environmental Monitoring" of the IAEA Technical Cooperation, the The equipment includes a modern alpha spectrometer and a gamma spectrometer from Canberra with Genie 2000 software and an electric cooling system. The set also includes laboratory accessories for sampling and storage. This equipment will be used to determine the content of radionuclides in environmental facilities (air, soil, and water) and other materials.
The representative of Canberra Company Rylov Alexander visited NRSA Technical Service Laboratory from July 1 to July 11, 2014. The visit was aimed to install and set up equipment, and train staff members as well.
In September of the current year, laboratory employees will undergo an internship at the Radiochemistry Laboratory of the Faculty of Chemistry of Moscow State University, where they will learn how to use equipment, spectrometry, and radiochemistry methods.
