On April 23, 2021, a scientific seminar on “Formation and development of research in the field of radiation safety and radioecology in Tajikistan” was organized at the Tajik Technical University named after M.S. Osimi in cooperation with the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (NRSA NAST). The Vice-Rector in Science and Innovation, Ph.D., Associate Professor Abdullo Mamadamon Abdurahmonbek delivered a welcoming statement.

Mirsaidov Ulmas Mirsaidovich, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan made a presentation on: "The formation and development of research in the field of radiation safety and radioecology in Tajikistan." In his speech, he emphasized that the future development of Tajikistan relies on the exact sciences. He also described the establishment and organization of NRSA NAST.

The second speaker was the Head of Occupational Exposure Control Service Section at NRSA NAST, Ph.D. Khakimova Nodira. She made a presentation on "Control of external professional exposure in the Republic of Tajikistan”.

Furthermore, the Head of the Licensing and inspection Department of NRSA NAST, Ph.D. Khamidov Farkhod made a presentation regarding the devices for determining and detecting radionuclides," in which he described the methods and main purposes of equipment used to monitor radionuclides, demonstrated the material and technical equipment of the analytical laboratory at NRSA NAST. He also mentioned that indicated equipment had been installed to detect ionizing radiation sources at the borders.

Conducted seminar aroused utmost interest among undergraduates and graduate students of the faculty. They have been asking a lot of questions they concerned about, and demonstrated their engagement and interest in the radiation field. In this regard, teachers of the Tajik Technical University named after M.S. Osimi made an offer to visit the laboratories of NRSA NAST, where Academician U.M. Mirsaidov replied: "We will be glad if students could not only visit the laboratories but also conduct their research and thesis works".

Employees and participants attended the scientific seminar, in particular, Vice-Rector in Science and Innovation, and International Relations, Ph.D., associate Professor - A.M. Abdurahmonbek, and Doctor of chemical sciences, corresponding member of NAST, Professor A.B. Badalov expressed sincere gratitude to Academician Mirsaidov Ulmas Mirsaidovich for conducting an informative and comprehensive seminar and proposed to continue those meetings on a regular basis.
