Official handover ceremony of COVID-19 detection equipment to the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences
On December 28, 2021, official ceremony of handover of Covid-19 detection equipment to the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences was carried out. The equipment рas been provided by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in the framework of INT0098 project to strengthen the national capacity of designated laboratories in their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ilhom Mirsaidzoda, the Director of CBRN Safety and Security Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan handed over the equipment on behalf of the IAEA to the President of Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Asozoda Nurali Mahmadullo and the Director of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Atovullozoda Rajabmurod. In turn, they noted that the equipment will be effectively used and will be installed in priority locations to reduce the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
So far, the of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences laboratory is equipped with rooms for the study of infectious diseases and zoonosis using traditional methods (RBT, CR, IFA, complement binding reaction, precipitation reaction, diffuse precipitation reaction, neutralization reactions, hemagglutination reaction, hemagglutination inhibition reaction), using modern methods (ELISA, real-time RT-PCR), and with rooms for isolating bacteria and viruses (boxes for isolating bacteria and viruses).
