Meeting on Youth Day in the Republic of Tajikistan
On May 28, at the Regional Training Center of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (NRSA NAST) was held a meeting devoted to celebrating Youth Day in the Republic of Tajikistan.
Director of NRSA NAST, Ilhom Mirsaizoda congratulated all the young employees of the Agency and expressed gratitude for their contribution to the development of the Agency's activities. As a member of the primary party organization “Afkanishot” under the NRSA NAST, the director highlighted that the Agency supports and embodies the policy of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, in particular for youth. Seventy percent of staff in the Agency comprises young specialists under 35, and the conditions necessary for their development are being established. The Director also emphasized the significant contribution to the development of the Agency's activities and the promotion of scientific activities, particularly in the field of nuclear and radiation safety. He expressed gratitude for the effective work, for the support and implementation of the unified policy of NRSA leadership.
Another focus was the maintenance of the policy of professional implementation of young specialists, particularly women-scientists in scientific activities. The IAEA is committed to gender equality and supporting the principle of gender equality and enabling all individuals, regardless of their gender to equally contribute to the nuclear industry. In this regard, supporting IAEA policies and principles, the Agency's leadership initiated the establishment of the woman-scientists organization “Women in Nuclear” Tajikistan aimed at creating a favorable environment to strengthen the role of women professionals in science.
The Agency’s leadership conducts various training courses for employees to improve the young specialists’ professional level. The Director focused particular importance on education, encouraging young specialists to pursue their professional education in the field of nuclear and radiation safety, in particular with a master's degree, which is an integral part of a further fruitful and successful outcome.
In conclusion, the NRSA director pointed out further plans, which covered:
- conducting seminars and presentations for students of educational institutions to raise awareness in the field of nuclear and radiation safety;
- conducting of nuclear and radiation safety training courses;
- organization of cultural events for NRSA NAST employees.
