Official Ceremony of Transfer of the X-ray Diagnostic and Radiotherapy Equipment to the Republican Scientific Oncological Centre of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan
On 15 November 2023, an official ceremony for transferring the X-ray diagnostic and Radiotherapy Equipment to the Republican Scientific Oncology Centre of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan within the framework of the TAD6007 - Strengthening the Central and Northern Oncology Centers and TAD6008 - Improving Diagnostic Services Projects of Technical Cooperation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conducted.
Deputy Director Dr. Matin AKHMEDOV and Mr. Olimjon AZIZOV - head of International Relations and Public Relations Department of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency of NAST as National Liaison Assistants on behalf of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) handed over X-Ray Diagnostic and Radiotherapy Equipment to Dr. Zafar HUSEYNZODA - head of the Republican Scientific Oncology Centre in Dushanbe.
Within the framework of TAD6007 and TAD6008 projects, three staff of the Republican Scientific Oncological Centre trained in X-ray diagnostics, magnetic resonance tomography (MRI), and radiotherapy in medical institutions of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
The purpose of implementing these projects is the timely detection and prevention of various oncological diseases in the capital and other regions of the Republic of Tajikistan.
In the future years, the IAEA also intends to train hospital staff and purchase additional radiotherapy and X-ray diagnostic equipment as part of these national projects.
