Contribution of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan to Combating Terrorism and Extremism
Nowadays, terrorism and extremism pose a serious threat to the security of the entire world. In recent years, the world community has been increasingly confronted with the threats of terrorism and extremism, which know no borders and require concerted efforts at the international level. A special attention is paid to the situation in Afghanistan, where complex geopolitical and socio-economic conditions create favorable conditions for the spread of ideas of extremism and terrorism, and therefore the role of scientific and educational institutions in the training of law enforcement structures in the Republic of Tajikistan becomes particularly important to effectively counter these threats at the border.
In this regard, a special role is assigned to the activities of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, as it aims to improve the effectiveness of the combat against these threats. In this process, the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan takes the leading role and implements comprehensive training and advanced training programs for the country's security forces.
The Agency's activities focus on organizing and conducting training courses, seminars and conferences for law enforcement officers. These activities are aimed at increasing awareness and skills in detecting, preventing and responding to extremist and terrorist threats used by terrorist and extremist groups.
To achieve these goals, the Agency actively attracts international grants and funds, which makes it possible not only to ensure a high level of activities, but also to provide Law Enforcement Agencies with the necessary equipment, special clothing and vehicles. This provision plays an important role in improving the preparedness of officers to respond effectively to potential threats. Particular attention is paid to the development and implementation of innovative technologies in law enforcement practice. The Agency, through international projects and co-operation with the world's leading scientific centers, transfers advanced knowledge and technologies that contribute to strengthening national security and enhancing the effectiveness of the combat against terrorism and extremism.
Conducting Trainings and Workshops
One of the main activities of the Agency is the training of Law Enforcement Officers of Tajikistan. Training courses, seminars and conferences help to improve officers' skills in the recognition and prevention of extremist and terrorist threats. Training programmes cover various aspects, including techniques for detecting and neutralising chemical, biological and radiological agents, as well as measures to prevent nuclear threats.

International Cooperation
The Agency is actively cooperating with international partners and organisations to attract financial assistance and grants to strengthen borders and combat terrorism. These funds are used to acquire the necessary equipment, special clothing and innovative technologies, which significantly increases the ability of the of Law Enforcement Agencies in ensuring the security of the country.
Infrastructure and Technical Support
The Agency, through international grants, provides law enforcement agencies with modern equipment, including detection detectors, special protective clothing and communications equipment. In addition, as part of the border strengthening programme, special attention is being paid to the reconstruction and equipping of border crossings along the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border, which is important to prevent illegal border crossings and the influx of extremist elements.

The activities of the Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan in combating terrorism and extremism play an important role in ensuring national and regional security. Continuous training of security forces, modernization of technical equipment and strengthening of borders, especially along the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, creates a reliable barrier against the spread of terrorist and extremist threats.
