On May 15, 2024, under the initiative of WiN Tajikistan and the Womens Council of NAST, with the support of President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Khushvakhtzoda Kobiljon Khushvakht, the action "Lets wear Tajik!" took place, in which more than 80 women took part.
The goal of the initiative is to popularize national traditions, as well as strengthen national and cultural identity.
Tajik national costume is an important part of the cultural heritage of Tajikistan, reflecting the rich history, traditions and identity of the Tajik people. This costume is distinguished by a variety of shapes, colors and decorations, which vary depending on the region, age, and social status.

“One of the main values of Tajik culture is the institution of family, since in the family a person receives first lessons and models of behavior and education. Therefore, on Family Day, May 15, 2024, the National Chapter WiN Tajikistan and the Women’s Council of the NAST joined the republican action “Let’s wear Tajik!” Women scientists came to the action in national clothes - atlas, adras, chakan - national women's costumes of various regions of the republic.
The event took place in one of the beautiful places in Dushanbe - the Istiqlol Park Complex. Women scientists of NAST, participating in this action, made efforts to better represent national values, the culture of wearing clothes, emphasizing that the preservation of national values contributes to their preservation. The Council of Women of NAST and WiN Tajikistan has been participating in the action from its very beginning and considers it the most important part of educational work among young people, since a positive personal example is the most effective measure in promotion of national values, strengthening national identity and preserving culture,” – noted Makhmadzhonova Muhiba, chief researcher at the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Law named after. Under the initiative of the National Chapter WiN Tajikistan and the Women’s Council of the National Academy of Sciences, today in Istiqlol Park the event “Let’s wear Tajik!” was organized, aimed to popularizing national clothing.
