Participation of Tajik Scientists in the 68th Session of the IAEA General Conference
The Director of the CBRN Safety and Security Agency of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Ilhom Mirsaidzoda, is participating in the 68th session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), taking place from September 16 to 20, 2024, in Vienna, Republic of Austria. The high-level delegation from the Republic of Tajikistan includes Professor Ilhom Mirsaidzoda, Director of the CBRN Safety and Security Agency of NAST, Mr Aziz Nazar, Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies, and Mr Idibek Kalandar, Head of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan to the IAEA.
The IAEA General Conference is an important international platform where Member States discuss key issues related to nuclear safety, security, and the peaceful use of nuclear technologies. This year’s conference is dedicated to significant global efforts in nuclear non-proliferation, technical cooperation, and initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development through the use of nuclear technologies.
During the conference, Ilhom Mirsaidzoda will hold high-level meetings with international counterparts, emphasizing Tajikistan’s commitment to strengthening its capabilities in nuclear safety and security. The participation of Mr. Aziz Nazar highlights the country’s interest in utilizing nuclear technologies for industrial development, while the Head of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan to the IAEA, Mr. Idibek Kalandar, will focus on strengthening diplomatic relations with key international partners.
